The Multiplier replaces Megaplier and is an automatically applied feature that boosts the value of non-jackpot prize. The Multiplier means that you could win $10 million even without matching all the numbers. Here is exactly how it works:
What is the Multiplier
The Multiplier is automatically added to your ticket at no extra cost. The Multiplier means that prizes can be increased by anywhere between 2X and 10X their original value.
- 2X Multiplier - 1 in 2.3 chance
- 3X Multiplier - 1 in 3.2 chance
- 4X Multiplier - 1 in 8 chance
- 5X Multiplier - 1 in 16 chance
- 10X Multiplier - 1 in 32 chance
How to Play
The Multiplier automatically increases every Mega Millions win and is added to your ticket, as part of the $5 per game ticket cost.
The Multiplier only applies to the eight prize levels beneath the jackpot. If you match all six numbers, your payout is not increased even with the added the Multiplier.
