How to Play Pick 10
Pick 10, as the name of the game suggests, requires you to pick 10 numbers. The range of numbers you choose from is 1 to 80.
Look through all the steps below to learn how to play Pick 10. You can find New York Lottery retailers throughout the estate. Drawings take place every night at 8:30 PM.
Choose your numbers
Mark 10 numbers from 1 to 80 on your playslip, or select the QP option if you would prefer to play a Quick Pick. There are five panels on a playslip, labelled Game A to Game E, so you can pick more than one set of numbers on a playslip.
Decide how many draws
You can play your numbers in up to seven consecutive drawings by marking the appropriate number on your playslip. Leave it blank if you just want to enter the next drawing.
Purchase your tickets
You have to pay for your entries before the cut-off time of 8:00 PM. It costs $1 per play. You can either hand your playslip to the lottery retailer or insert it into an NYL vending machine.
If you’re a regular Pick 10 player and like to use the same numbers, you can take advantage of the ‘Play It Again’ feature. This allows you to hand in a ticket from the last 30 days and receive an identical ticket – at the same cost – for the next draw.
How the Draw Works
While the game is called Pick 10, the draw actually involves 20 winning numbers being selected between 1 and 80. Draws are broadcast live every night on television stations across the Empire State.
How to Win
To win the top prize, all 10 of your numbers must be among the 20 that are drawn. You can also win prizes for matching five or more numbers, or even none at all. Go to the Odds and Prizes page to see how much you can win for each category, along with the chances of success.
